DREAD and FAITH
When I was in ROTC summer camp (watered-down basic training), I learned something about dread. Cold mornings at Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, found us marching to metal bleachers where the trainers would do their thing. We had to stand at attention until the instructor finally appeared to command "SEATS."

MAISIE

My greatest creature of comfort is my darling companion, Maisie. She is a Cavachon, which is a fairly new breed achieved by combining a King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. Maisie came to live with me last summer as an 8-week-old puppy and we are still learning new things about each other every day.
